News brief
DRG: Survivor hits PS5 Oct 7, Switch Oct 9 — Knockout Coming soon
Ghost Ship Publishing and Funday Games date Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor for PlayStation 5 on October 7 and Switch 1 & 2 on October 9 — plus Knockout Expansion (Brawler, Sandblasted Corridors, Brood Harvest) as paid DLC Coming soon.
Key points
- Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor launches on PlayStation 5 on October 7, 2026, and on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 9, 2026, per Ghost Ship Publishing / Funday Games press via Swipe Right (29 September 2026).
- Knockout Expansion adds the Brawler class, Sandblasted Corridors biome, and Brood Harvest mission (Dreadnought Empress), named in the same press and in Steam’s September 30 Knockout post.
- Steam frames Knockout as paid DLC Coming soon alongside a free base-game update; Steam DLC app 5269530 shows Coming soon with no day — this brief invents neither a Knockout ship date nor day-one console parity.
- Distinct product from mainline Deep Rock Galactic Season 07/08 roadmap coverage — Survivor is the auto-shooter spin-off already on Steam, Xbox, iOS, and Android per the press.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor just locked near-term console windows. Ghost Ship Publishing and Funday Games’ Swipe Right press dated 29 September 2026 puts PlayStation 5 on October 7 and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 on October 9. Steam’s app 2321470 remains the PC storefront spine; the press notes the game is already on Steam, iOS, Android, and Xbox. This brief is a near-term console + expansion systems wire — distinct from mainline Deep Rock Galactic Season 07/08 roadmap coverage.
Keep the press split: Switch is October 9, not October 7. Secondary headlines that collapse platforms to a single day do not override the Swipe Right primary here.
Console windows — PS5 Oct 7, Switch Oct 9
The citeable lock is short. October 7, 2026 for PS5; October 9, 2026 for Switch and Switch 2. Funday producer Jacob Laurits Besenbacher Kjeldsen is quoted in the press on expanding to those platforms after the Survivor 1.0 year — corroborative color only; dates come from the release paragraph, not the quote. Steam’s Knockout post notes PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch play “as soon as next week,” with a footnote that some regions may be delayed due to platform rollout — hedge as printed; it does not rewrite the press dates.
Knockout: Brawler, Sandblasted Corridors, Brood Harvest — Coming soon
Same morning, Steam’s Coming Soon: Knockout Expansion post (and the Swipe Right feature list) name the systems package: Brawler (melee-focused class), Sandblasted Corridors biome, and Brood Harvest mission against the Dreadnought Empress. Steam is explicit: Knockout is a paid DLC coming soon alongside a free update to the base game, with more detail “in the weeks leading up.” Steam DLC app 5269530 shows Coming soon — no day. This brief invents neither a Knockout ship date nor Knockout day-one on consoles.
If October 7 / October 9 or Knockout’s calendar moves, Ghost Ship, Funday, PlayStation, or Nintendo moves it first. Until then, Survivor’s console near-term is the split window above, and Knockout stays Coming soon — paid DLC plus free base update, systems named, day unknown.
