Hitman: Absolution arrives on Switch 2 on October 22 at $29.99, with a free upgrade for Switch owners

Feral Interactive says Hitman: Absolution – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will release on October 22. Feral’s news post is dated October 15. In its press release, Feral describes the edition as “a host of improvements to the original 2025 Nintendo Switch release.” That wording is from the press release, not the news post. October 22 is a Thursday, and Feral gives no unlock time.

Price and the upgrade

Feral gives the prices in US dollars, pounds and euros:

• New buyers: the Switch 2 Edition costs $29.99 / £19.99 / €24.99 at launch, “saving 25%,” according to Feral. “From November 5th” it costs $39.99 / £24.99 / €29.99.
• Owners of the Switch version: the Upgrade Pack is free “from launch day until November 4th,” Feral says. “After November 4th” it costs $9.99 / £4.99 / €4.99.

Feral gives no time zone for the November 4 and November 5 dates. The prices are Feral’s; we haven’t confirmed them on an eShop listing, and Feral lists no Latin American prices.

What Feral says is new

We haven’t played the game. The news post lists these highlights:

• Resolution: increased output resolution in both handheld and docked modes. Feral’s news post gives no numbers.
• Frame rate: frame-rate improvements in handheld mode, to a maximum of 60fps. Feral’s press release says a Performance preset “targeting 60fps.”
• Controls: support for Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.
• Visuals: improved animations and visual effects in the most demanding scenes, plus level of detail, shadow quality and texture filtering improvements.
• Contracts mode is available on release day for Switch 2 players. Feral’s press release says it lets players create their own assassination assignments and share them online.

Feral says the full list of improvements is on its blog, which we couldn’t open.

Where it came from

Hitman: Absolution was developed by IO Interactive, and the Switch 2 Edition is Feral’s port of it. Feral’s press release says the original Switch version “remains available to purchase on the Nintendo eShop.”
