Rumors, rated: GTA VI on PC, a new Uncharted, Pokémon on October 8 and the next-gen spec sheets

Four claims doing the rounds this month, each traced to whoever made it and rated for credibility. None of them is confirmed. One of them settles itself in five days.

Key points

  • Every claim in this Play Observatory Rumors section is unverified: none of it has been confirmed by Rockstar Games, Sony, Naughty Dog, Nintendo, The Pokémon Company or Microsoft.
  • Rockstar Games has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI; the February 2027 claim comes from a leaker citing three former Rockstar employees.
  • Naughty Dog has not announced a new Uncharted game; the claim comes from an MP1st report on September 30, 2026, which insider NateTheHate said matched what he had heard.
  • Neither Nintendo nor The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire for Nintendo Switch; leak accounts claim an October 8, 2026, release.

This is the Rumors section of The Play Monthly. Everything on these pages is unverified. Nothing here has been confirmed by the company it concerns, nothing here goes on our Release Radar, and nothing here should be repeated as fact.

What we do instead is the work most rumour posts skip. For each claim we name who actually made it, say what they offered as evidence, set it against anything official that bears on it, and give it a rating on a four-step scale: Unverifiable, Weak, Plausible or Looks real. Then we say what it would mean if it turned out true, and when we expect to know.

This month’s four: a February 2027 PC date for Grand Theft Auto VI, a new Uncharted at Naughty Dog, Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire on Switch on October 8, and the first spec sheets for PlayStation 6 and Microsoft’s next Xbox. One of them is far better sourced than the rest. One of them settles itself in five days.

Questions and answers

Is GTA VI coming to PC in February 2027?
Rockstar Games has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI or any PC date. The February 2027 claim comes from the leaker DetectiveSeeds, who says three former Rockstar employees described it as a target that is not final. We rate it plausible but thinly sourced.
Is a new Uncharted game in development?
Naughty Dog and Sony have not announced one. MP1st reported on September 30, 2026, that a new Uncharted is in development, led by Shaun Escayg, and insider NateTheHate said on ResetEra that this is what he had been referring to. It remains unconfirmed.
Are Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire coming to Switch on October 8?
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have not announced them. Leak accounts on X claim an October 8, 2026, release on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The claim can be checked on that date, and we will record the result.
