## Monday: Steam Next Fest opens

[Valve's Steamworks documentation](https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/upcoming_events/nextfest/2026october) says the October 2026 edition "runs October 19 at 10:00 AM PDT (UTC-7) to October 26 at 10:00 AM PDT (UTC-7)." In Argentina that is **Monday, October 19 at 14:00** to **Monday, October 26 at 14:00**. Steam's [Next Fest page](https://store.steampowered.com/sale/nextfest) invites players to "play free demos of games that haven't even launched yet." We won't name or count demos here, with one exception, a cancellation: *Drunken Goddess Reflux* will not get the public demo it had planned for Monday, October 19. Alliance Arts's [October 16 statement](https://alliance-arts.co.jp/en/news-detail/3225/) says it is "not currently in a position to properly handle and manage those restrictions" on posting and streaming gameplay, and is concerned that "works imitating or replicating this game's presentation and gameplay could be quickly produced using AI or other tools." It is replacing the demo with a closed playtest on Steam, chosen by lottery through its Discord, [scheduled](https://alliance-arts.co.jp/en/news-detail/3228/) for October 23–31 JST.

## Monday or Tuesday: Monster Hunter Wilds' Switch 2 demo

Capcom's official Monster Hunter account [wrote on October 14](https://x.com/monsterhunter/status/2110536208925311140): "The free Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct 19 PT / Oct 20 BST!" The demo carries save data over to the full game and supports local play, and "digital pre-orders will also begin on the same date," the post says. Its attached graphic notes that online multiplayer isn't available in the demo.

**No unlock hour is published.** Capcom gave a date in two time zones, not a time, so we can't say whether it arrives on Monday or Tuesday in Argentina. Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds site headlines it "October 20, 2026." We read only the headline, not the article.

VGC reports it is the same Prologue Demo as on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Steam, with full character creation and play through the end of "Chapter 1-3: To the Forest." The full game comes to Switch 2 on **December 4, 2026**, according to [Capcom's September 10 press release](https://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/html/e260910.html). We haven't seen a price on a Capcom or Nintendo page, so we're printing none.

The demo is a Switch 2 release and is separate from Steam Next Fest, whose rules, per Valve, exclude a "prologue, chapter 1, or otherwise 'demo' version of existing content."

## Tuesday: ID@Xbox Showcase

IGN says the October edition of the ID@Xbox Showcase presented by IGN "will kick off on Tuesday, October 20 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST." In Argentina that is **Tuesday, October 20 at 14:00**. IGN names *The Wolf Among Us Remastered* and "gameplay from Critical Reflex Games," plus "tons of world premieres." Steam lists *The Wolf Among Us Remastered* for October 29, 2026. We haven't seen a full lineup, so we name nothing else.
